Graece Μηνολόγιον, i. e. Kalendarium, dictus est in Eccl sia Graeca liber, in quo notatae festivitates cuiusque Mensis, ut et Sanctorum acta, quae ad matutinum leguntur. Auxit id Basilius Macedo Imperator et picturis undique, martyria variorum SS. exprimentibus, ornavit. Vide Macros Fratres in Hierolexico. De illo sic Suicerus: Menologia apud Graecos non alia sunt, quam quae Latinis Martyrologia vel Kalendaria. Nec aliud in illis habetur, nisi vel Sanctorum vitae quolibet die per totum annum summatim expositae, vel quorum vitae non habentur, commemoratio, nullaque ibi aut officii ordinandi, aut recitandi series continetur. Hoc Menologium--pro opportunitate temporis variam quoque faciem innuit: aliud quippe est, quod Latine tantum ex versione Cardin. Sirleti Canisius in antiqq. Lection. repraesentavit: aliud quod separatim hinc inde manuscriptum adhuc in Bibliothecis et Barberina potissimum, quod et antiquissimum est, asservatur: quae nec per omnia sibi invicem respondent: aliud quod in Menaeis Graecorum insertum est: aliud, quod post divinas Horas, Euangelium, Apostolum aliosque libros legitur.
